Tuesday Bag Packing

As the school year comes to a close, we wrapped up our final Tuesday evening bag packing event on June 11th. We thank everyone who helped pack, deliver, and organize weekend bags during the 2023-2024 school year. We hope to see you all again in the 2024-2025 school year!

Look at what The Weekend Bag Program was able to provide for Sussex County students during the 2023-2024 school year thanks to all of YOU! None of this would be possible without the selfless help and donations of our liaisons, donors, and volunteers!

As The Weekend Bag Program continues to grow and expand as we enter our 9th year of fighting juvenile food and hygiene insecurity, the need for volunteers is also growing! Check out the opportunities below and let us know if you’d like to get involved!

• Fundraising committee
  
• Plan and execute fundraisers & events
  
• Man The Weekend Bag booth/table at vendor events
• Appeal to local businesses and organizations for donations
• Communication/PR committee
  
• Help organize, write, filter, and manage, social media posts, emails, and newsletter
  
• Communicate with local news outlets
  
• Write up press releases regarding certain Weekend Bag activities and news.
  
• Bag Committee
  
• Help organize & manage the warehouse and inventory
  
• Coordinate volunteer groups for Tuesday Bag Packing evenings
  
• Communicate with Liaisons regarding bag numbers & deliveries
  
• Support Volunteer
  
• Help as needed with events, drives, packing bags, etc (you’ll be sent a list of upcoming opportunities and events and can sign up for the ones that fit your schedule and interest)
